Introduction
Cody White Tech Blog (“the Blog”, “we”, “us”) operates the website at codywhite.me (the “Website”). This policy explains what personal information the Website collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with. The Blog is a personal technology blog with no user accounts, no newsletter, and no advertising.
Information We Collect
We only collect personal information in these situations:
- Contact form. If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide so we can respond to you.
- Analytics (only with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects standard usage data such as the pages you view, approximate location, and device and browser type. Your IP address is anonymized. If you do not accept, no analytics data is collected.
- Cookie preferences. When you make a choice in the cookie banner, that choice is stored in a small cookie on your device so we do not ask again.
We do not collect personal information from social media or other third-party sources.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information above only to respond to messages you send us through the contact form, and, where you have consented, to understand how the Website is used so we can improve it. We do not use your information for marketing, and we do not send newsletters or promotional messages.
Third Parties We Share With
We use a small number of service providers to run the Website. We never sell or rent your personal information.
- Formspree processes contact-form submissions and forwards them to us (privacy policy).
- Google Analytics provides usage analytics, only after you opt in (privacy policy).
- GitHub Pages hosts the Website and may process basic technical data such as IP addresses in its server logs (privacy statement).
These providers may process data in the United States. We otherwise disclose information only if required by law.
Cookies & Analytics
The Website uses Google Analytics to understand how it is used. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them via the cookie-consent banner. No analytics data is collected and no request is sent to Google until you opt in. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer, or through your browser settings. Only strictly necessary cookies, including the one that remembers your consent choice, are active by default.
Data Retention
We keep contact-form messages for as long as needed to handle your inquiry. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ retention settings. You can ask us to delete information you have sent us at any time.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have provided, and you can withdraw consent for analytics at any time (via the “Cookie Settings” link). To make a request, use the contact page.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or destruction. The Website is served over HTTPS.
Children’s Privacy
The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
